Did I miss the "wanted" ad ?
That's how I thought I understood it too, that the 1.5" were more commonly found in the earlier QL models, where the larger improvement 2" diameter being the later models. But, I did not mess around. I asked Santa for a new fuel gauge for my 1450 last Christmas, lol!

CC Specialties has the correct OEM cap for around $22.. I have an early 1450 and had to get one of these awhile back but I think I may have paid a good bit more for mine..
1.5 " was a fairly common size for push type mowers and weedeaters back in the late 80's thru early 90's. you might try a cap for a Briggs and Stratton with a plastic tank.. they seem to be cheap and plentiful on ebay.. but like Roland said.. it may be a challenge to figure out the correct thread.
