Thumbs up to JeffinPA for the sleeve hitch, both sets of lift straps, and two-hole lift pin! Parts arrived today, nothing missing so now will get wrapped up and put under the Christmas tree, hee

Excellent quality parts, and is a major boost in the capability of this 1450. More to come on the sleeve hitch after Christmas.

Thank you Jeff!

A few pictures of the 1450 transmission as it was being painted. I prolly could have posted these when it was in progress. So, since its the end of a year, Thought I'd post them.

Cool

Just an update. Got the go ahead from the wife to get the front bumper and a couple suit case weights from Extreme. Other parts include a new Decka battery, Hy-Tran and CC hydro filter. Still have to prep and paint my new sleeve hitch from Jeff. With the weather going in the right direction I can carry on to painting my 1450 soon.

Ready for the spring tune up! I was set on the Decka brand batteries, as I had good luck with them. According to my local CC dealer, they don't sell them because of problems. My CC dealer is selling the Interstate with 350cc and 450 ca for 65$. I plan to check out the Husky Exide from TSC. Looking for a high cc battery for this 1450. Anyone have the bumper from Extreme on their QL with the suit case weights? I'm looking harder into these and wondered what they would look like.

Well, the recommendation is low ash SAE-30 for 32* and above. I have a few tractors now, so the engine oil changes go a lot longer despite the season I'm using it in. I'm not 100% sold that this 10w-30 Kohler oil is going to hurt anything. The oil is thinner for lifters in the Kohler twin engines. It is formulated for heavy duty use in Kohler air cooled engines, A lot of folks still use automobile engine oil in their cubs and swear that's fine too.

In the mail came new side panel mounting knobs, and a few decals. I also had found a good used set of automatic release valves, but decided to keep my manual valves because they function as should, and don't leak. Besides, the release lever, lever grommet, and flap are fine in the tunnel cover housing.

Going to get started on the 82 Series style driveline, set the engine back into the frame to make sure I get my measurements correct for drilling, then on to rattle can painting of the engine, and a few odds and ends cosmetically.

More to come.........

New battery came in today TSC did not have the Husky Exide 420 CA battery in stock, so I just grabbed this one. On another note, hopefully we're on the right course of direction for nicer weather, which would mean more time for things to do on the 1450.

Here are more nice items from Jeff, which are the sleeve hitch, both sets of lifting straps, and lift pin. Also, the new Wide Frame front weight bracket/bumper, and 6 suitcase weights. Fantastic parts, and I can't wait to get them painted and installed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
