Cool

Lew, Zippy1, and the Gang, thank you! I need to get moving on the project, so I thought I'd start with some upgrades, and cosmetic stuff.

So, the very next thing I do is to finish painting the disk brake assembly, get these rims painted and mount the tires. Reminds me that I need new valve stems as well

Then, I'm still going after opening up the hydro pump for a basic inspection. I have the complete rebuild kit if needed. Then go for painting the cast iron section of that pump, and reassemble. Then disassemble the rest of the chassis as far as I can, and clean it up real spiffy before the cold weather settles in.

I do have the trans axle and new 1/4" rim spacers painted up nicely, with some finishing touches! Looking forward to working on the 1450 all day, cause the wife will be at work for most of it!!! I'll get picts up of these new ag tires I got!

Those are the real McCoys! I don't know about other tires, but these are pretty cool and can't wait to get them on the 1450!

On another note, the rear rims are done and I pick them up on Monday

Today, I got into the thick of it. Took the 1450 out back and degreased, and washed it up. Dried with compressed air. I pretty much got a handle on what is going to get rattle can painted, I'm only planning to touch up the frame and what not. Here are a few pictures:

All cleaned up! I had used PB Blaster, hand cleaner, car wash soap, hot water, garden hose, and air to get the job done.

A shot of how I made the whole clean up possible, with the '69 IH #2 cart and a 2' x 8' x 3/4" board, and the model 72:

I removed the 1250 serial tag. Here it the correct serial tag for my 1450 that will be going on:

That's all for now

Exclamation Man, I think I've figured it out!

So today, when I was removing the right front wheel, I had spun the wheel and noticed an awful noise, and it is just what I have been trying to figure out all along. Its the new inner wheel bearing! I'm going to set up the tooling and give a video spin and see for sure.

I wonder how this happened! Maybe I over tightened the rim to the spindle? IDK. This is for real. Laying in bed going through the manuals for my 1450 for the life of me and all of the sudden the light came on.

I hope this is it! Gonna pound out the bad bearing and install another. No chew marks on a perfect 1" spindle, however!

Later on guys!

Well, I got a bearing out of a back up front rim just fine with a little hear, and WD-40, hammer and punch. It's the exact bearing that I just put in new, in my new set of front rims. So, later I plan on changing out the bad one.

Today, is a great day to be outside, away from the crap on television! Prep and painting the last of the disk brake caliper components. Going to degrease and prep the front 1" spindles for paint too! Probably start a few touch-up spots on the 1450 frame while its clean.

I don't think I'm going to open up the hydro pump. I knew what I was hearing was a bad bearing, I just could not determine where between the engine loudness, and the intermittent "weird" sound.

John, I'm glad you found the source of the noise!

Not real sure how you mistook a front wheel bearing for a rear end noise, but glad you found it just the same.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
