Default Holley Carb Help?

Was wondering if anyone has any experiance with rebuilding Holley 4 barrels. I have one that was pissin gas and the bowl gaskets were leaking so I tore it down to rebuild it. My problem is that the secondary float was pushed all rhe way to bottom of the bowl with adjustment screw. Probably why it was flooding? Anyway, I can not for the life of me find anything on the numbers of this carb. Even from Holley.com. 1850-4, 3215. I know atleast a few of you have some experiance with some bigger toys so any help would be greatly appreciated!

whats it off of? sometimes if they're original to something the numbers don't make sense going by the aftermarket stuff.
if the floats pushed all the way down and its still leaking, someone prob adjusted it trying to get it to quit when it really needed a needle and seat.

John,

An 1850 Holley is a very common universal 600 cfm vac secondary ... any auto parts store should have a kit for it..

If memory serves me correct the holley kit should be a 37-119.

Im sure there are plenty of youtube videos on holley carbs

Good luck with it

IIRC, ballpark setting is float just level with bowl upside down. You can fine tune the level once on the engine.

Don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but I never liked a holley and I've had my hands on plenty of them, and made them run right for a lot of people.
A Carter AFB (now Edelbrock) is correct right out of the box, runs well and solves a multitude of issues.
Best dam carb ever built, bar none.
If you disagree, I don't want to hear it, but I respect your opinion.
I rarely am this adamant on anything.
Best of luck with your carb project.

I respectfully disagree. I've used Holley stuff for years on my race car. Re-worked by BLP for road racing. Flowed 915cfm.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
