These days, I don't have an idea about what I'm doing.
Actually, I'm a panel maker....highend restorations on collectible autos. I specialize in french and Italian cars.....buggatti, Delahaye, ferrari....I haven't touched a car worth less than 7 figures in ages.

Currently I am installing for DirecTV. In my spare time, I fix computers. In the past 5 years, I have built Whirlpool refrigerators, Amana commercial microwaves, and did technical support for TaxACT.

i work for Cummins engine company.....i work in the coal fields and strip mines to repair these diesels.I mainly work on high horsepower anything above 1500HP...these are a few pics of what i work on......we also sell and service onan engines...nice to have some discounts...lol

Manage a few businesses, collect pocket knives, mountain bike, birdhunt with my GSP, deer hunt with my uncles, shoot skeet and sporting clays, enjoy hunting and sporting firearms, work out, maintain my own vehicles, enjoy cooking, grilling, smoking, baking bread and pizza, and any and all of the above are much more enjoyable when I do them with my family.

I ran CNC Ram Edm's and Wire's in the Tool trade for almost 20 years. Been layed off since Feb of 09. I have been enjoying the time off and spending every possible minute with my,now 18 month old daughter. I am currently trying to decide what I want to do for a new career, so I can go back to school.
Other than that, building custom harleys, playing in the deep mud on big modified 4x4 4-wheelers, and just putsing around on the retired farm. JOE

Well I am a machinist by trade (manual lathes and mills - no CNC for me!). I worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp till 2001 when they shut down the Lackawanna(NY) plant. Worked for Norfolk Southern RR for a while. Was a locomotive engineer on a shortline railroad for a few years before I hired on at Bethlehem. I have been temporarily laid off since November 09 from a laser cutting facility but it has worked out real well. I got to coach my 3 kids in ice hockey this past winter.
Like jbollis I too am currently trying to figure out a new career path. It seems the need for machinists in the Western NY area is drying up. All in all, life is good!
