Default Hydro Trans Will Not Move

I have a 1970 International Cub Cadet 127. I have gone through the engine, replaced a lot of small parts, pulleys, painted it and I replaced the hydro fluid and filter. I did use the correct fluid, filter, and primed it properly. The trans quit working about a month after servicing it. If I do not have the pto on and idle it up, it will move just a bit forward or in reverse, but there isn't much power there. Any ideas on what it could be? Know where and part number to get a complete rebuild kit? Know the hydro pump part number so I could maybe just order a new pump? People say to just buy a new tractor, but I happen to like old stuff. I would actually like to find an original trailer, rear 3 point and things like that for it.

Hello fellow buckeye. Probably a broken pin at the rear coupler of your driveshaft. Check front pin also. Rear pin is a coil pin, front pin is solid. Mike

Welcome to OCC
Whoa there,
Lets not get a casket for the baby, when it only needs a diaper change
Forget about rebuilding the hydro, they last near forever.
You prolly sheared a pin in the drive coupling.
Check where the drive shaft couples to the hydro, there is a COILED pin there, that is known to break after all these years.
Let us know what you find, a lot of helpful fellows here!!

I agree with the other two. Spirol Pin in the coupler in the Drive Train.

Thanks guys, I'll check that. It might be a few weeks as I had my knee replaced and I cannot be on it.

Default Hydro wont move.

I checked the drive shaft coupling where it comes out of the engine, and that assembly still looks new. No wear. How do you remove the body metal over the hydro to get to the whole drive train from the top. I am disabled and I cant get to these things from the bottom any longer. I got tore up in the Army and my neck is fused, partially paralized hand and I might be getting my leg amputated. No one around here will work on it, and I like the tractor. I just like old stuff.

Sorry. The 127 is a narrow frame tractor. No access from the top. Everything is from underneath.

OK, I guess I better call my son to help with that. I paid 500 for it with a trailer and old Tecumseh engine leaf blower. I have used it for 3 years and I love how rugged it is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
