Be aware that in cold weather (and I see you are in New York) these hydros (which your 127 is) tend to turn over more slowly when starting than they do in warm weather or when already warmed up. This is because the hydro oil thickens up due to the cold and since the drive shaft is turning the hydro while you are cranking to start, there is a lot more drag on the starter/generator. If you are not in tip/top tune-up condition starting could be a problem.

Cures can be a stronger battery, keeping the tractor in a heated location, or providing a heat source such as a heat lamp or heater to warm the hydro differential case up for a period before trying to start it. Personally, I have a battery charger with starting booster option which I use. Once everything is warmed up starting is easy.

First will be the oil change, what oil is preferred in this engine? I'll grab some at work today and get everything worked out tomorrow.

Does that include a hydraulic lift of some type??

Good points made, the heated facility is always the best. But a tarp, two magnetic oil heaters and a battery maintainer would be a good alternative if you need one

Looks like a good deal with all the extras ! Good battery,tune-up and proper timing setting ( static method best ) clean starter /gen . (new brushes and brgs if needed ) and starting in any weather shouldn't give you any problems, good luck !

Yeah from the pictures it has a manual. There was an optional electric lift on these, but I don’t think there was a hydraulic option on the 1x6/1x7 models.

Hope there’s a spring assist on it for the tiller and blower. Those are pretty heavy to lift otherwise.

The book specifies 10w30 in cold weather and straight SAE 30 in warm weather.

Opinions on this are all over the place, but I use IH low ash 30wt in the summer and a good synthetic 10w30 in the winter. Most important thing, imo, is maintaining the proper level and regular changes.

Well enough chat about what it may or may not have. It had the attachments and rolled. I will look over what it does and doesn't have when I have time when the sun is up. At 10:30 at night it's hard to see the small things.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
