I also like what I am seeing. To my way of thinking if you want to build it to fit your needs, go for it. You only have to please yourself. I modded my 1650 with a loader by adding power steering, trailer hubs and spindles and golf cart tires and a super steer axle and by using a set of super rear wheels with 26
x12-12 titan tru power tires. I may later stretch the frame to make it a little more stable and easier to get on and off because of the loader uprights. If you have the power steering parts from a 2072 it will almost be a bolt on. Good luck with your build and please keep posting updates. Wondering, are you using the quietline frame and stretching it or the 2072 frame? If you want I have some pictures of how I added power steering to my 1650. |

Working on the hand built tunnel cover. It'll also double as a mounting platform for the spool valves.

Looks great so far! Please keep the pics coming as this tractor is going to have a great "stance" when done. If you're happy with it, that's all that really matters.

Is that an old dash tower that you are repurposing as a tunnel cover? Looking forward to your progress.

Looks like part of a frame rail to me.

Tim, if it is a frame remnant, that will be one sturdy tunnel cover!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
