Default New from IL

Hey guys,
Born and raised in a JD home and recently saw the light...but don't tell my father?..lol. Anyway, about two months ago a good friend of mine sold me a CC 1250 with blade and 44" deck for $30! He only wanted money for the new battery that he had put into it. Long story short, while searching for some much needed parts for the 1250, I.e. motor mounts, drive shaft fan, etc, I came across a fellow on Craigslist selling a 1450 with snowblower for $400. Bought it and it runs great. So I am now the proud owner of my first two IH Cub Cadets. Both of them need some work, the the prices were perfect. I plan on doing a complete restore on the 1250 while using the 1450 this year. Then I would like to restore the 1450 and make it my work horse. I am fairly new to these tractors so don't be surprised to see a lot of dumb and new questions posted on here by yours truly! Anyway, thanks for this wonderful resource and I am looking forward to chatting it up with all of u!

We've all started where you are now, so ask away. Maybe your dad will come to see the light as well.

I learned to keep it on hand back when I worked all day finding them for QL models, LOL. Now I need to do the same for WF's.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
