Welcome to OCC. Sounds like you found a mate to mine.

My keeper is the one on the left. Great tractor. I've added power steering, Cyclops front axle and a CH20 engine.

Was this one of the 782's posted on CL recently?
This one was on Craigslist in Gibsonville, about 15 miles from me.
As for the chairs, a friend was throwing them away and I couldn't let that happen. Had them blasted and powder coated and they are like new, use to sit in some just like them on my grandpa's front porch.

Just came through there yesterday. Seems to be plenty of Cadets between Burlington and Greensboro.
Lets just say I'm a big fan of the color scheme on the chairs. (If that doesn't make sense to anyone, its a Tobacco Road thing.)

Welcome! I’m personally a huge fan of the 82 series. This site is super valuable! Be sure to check out the manuals section for most everything you might want to know about the tractor and attachments.

I’d recommend looking through the service manual, as well as the operators manual, obviously.

Cheers!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
