New oil pan should be here this weekend. Was wondering if I could use the head off my k241 on the k301 without running into any issues, I know that the bolts all line up and it fits good but the spark plug is in a different spot. Not sure if that will affect how it will run?

Heads are the same as far as fit. They are interchangeable. Might need a longer spark plug wire, and be sure to use the engine tin for the head that fits the head. (Spark plug hole drilled in right spot.) Check the bolts also. Some heads have recessed holes and need a bushing, some need longer bolts, ect. Pretty straight forward.

The head I have for the k301 has recessed holes that's why I was wondering, didn't want to buy the spacers to be able to mount the gas tank. One more question, I was only able to find a aluminum pan so do I absolutely need to put steel threaded inserts in it or will it be fine if the current threads are in good shape ? Thanks for all the help guys

Ok one last thing lol. The 12hp I have did not come with the drive cup(?) and I don't think the I have will work properly on it. https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/...EGY/s-l225.jpg
This Is similar to the flywheel on the 10hp https://m.ebay.com/itm/CASE-224-444-...28.m4335.l8656 And this is similar to the fly wheel on the 12jp. Can't find the right part anywhere so if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
