Default Jonny Bucket JR

I finally got my 8n sold so I ordered my Jonny bucket to replace the loader I lost by selling the 8n. It wont be nearly as functional but for what little I used the 8n and what I used a loader for it will work out fine. The Jonny Bucket web site says 2-3 weeks for delivery that will be like an eternity. I'm now considering new boots or at least a good set of chains to help with traction. I'm sure I'll have to fill the rear tires now also.

Congrats. I love mine. You are going to have to add some weight. The JB weighs about 150 lbs and sticks out a couple of feet giving it a bit of leverage. I weigh 250 lbs and lost traction a lot after adding the JB. It was also a bit top heavy with the bucket up and loaded. The Cub would tip onto two wheels when I tried to get off.

I added 12 gallons of RV antifreeze to the rear tires and it helped a lot. Also added two 55lb wheel weights from Sears. Last weekend I added a sleeve hitch and a Brinly box scraper. It is pretty well balanced now. Looking forward to playing in the dirt this weekend.

The JB is easy to install. Mine fit perfectly. The hardest part was figuring out how to run the wires. I can post a few pics if you would like.

I figured I'd have to run some ballast weight and by what your saying that confirms it. I never thought about it wanting to tip sideways though. Theres another member that has one maybe he'll chime in on the amount of weight he had to use also. What tractor do you have yours mounted to? His is a super if I recall. Pictures are always a treat for every body! please do

If I tried to get off by standing on the foot rests, it would try to tip over. I had to get off by putting my foot on the ground first to stop it from tipping. Mine is on a 124. Here is a pic before I put the weights and stuff on.

Filling the tires is enough to offset the weight of the JB and get some decent traction again. I got to thinking though that if I had the bucket fully loaded I would be back where I started, so I added the wheel weights. Going to try and move a pile of dirt this weekend. I'll post some action pics.

Nice looking 124. This will call for some action shots. Yours looks to be new, did you order it from the factory? How long of a wait time did you have?

It took about three to four weeks to get it. I hope you ordered the toothbar and turbo option. The tooth bar is a must if you are digging in hard soil. You can face the bucket down and put the teeth in the ground until the front of the tractor starts to come up, then back up. A couple of passes will break up the ground enough to scoop some dirt.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
