Sam, what are you using to bend that heavy stock?

It does not look like you heated it first? And that looks to thick for a traditional brake. You using an arbor press?

Great work, by the way!

I had the holes punched and the plate bent at the local welding shop. He has a nice Iron Worker setup. Cost me a whole $10.00 for the plate punched & bent.

This project is back on track now that the weather was warmed up. Got most of it sandblasted yesterday with the pressure washer sand blaster. Ran out of sand but the deck shell itself is done. Still need to do the mule, lift linkage and the small parts. Found a few cracks in the shell. Mr. Miller will get some action. Pics later.

OK Randy here are the pics. The red arrows point to some of cracks that I have to weld. This is the 3rd late style Haban I've had and the 1st one that I have seen with cracks like this. Pretty sure it had a hard life. Ve Gonna Make Er Yust Like A New.

Welded all the cracks, boxed in the rear at the point that the wheels attach so that it won't flex and crack again. Sand blasted the last few parts so now it's paint time. Pics tomorrow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
