1A Tiller
Just mounted my tiller. It's on a 1200 with manual lift. Can't seem to raise it without someone lifting it. Do I need a spring assist or electric or am I doing something wrong?

The tiller is quite heavy, even with the IH spring assist on my 125, I used both hands on the lift lever. My 122 had both the IH and Brinly spring assist and it was still heavy.
I purchased another 125 and that has hydraulic lift which makes lifting attachments effortless. |

I have a tiller on a 108 with manual lift. No spring assist. I can raise it for awhile with one hand but if I use it very long, it takes two hands.
I'm going to move the tiller to a 1650 just because of the hydraulic lift. |

Yep, the 149 I picked up came with a 42" deck, a 1A tiller, a Haban sickle bar mower and a cultivator. The tiller will stay with the 149 (hyd lift) the Haban I hope will live under the 1641, the mower deck is getting sold (I have enough mowers with the 2 Supers) the cultivator can play on the back of the 121. Problem solved.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
