Default Looking for a "Model List" please

I'm looking to find some sort of "List" of all cub models and options. Trying to fulfill a rather specific purpose which I'd like to find a model that is at least 10hp, hydrostatic, and three-point hitch to start. I searched all the models I found on wikipedia in tractordata, but have since found other models that were not listed. Trying to assemble a list of all the possibilities so that I could weed out the models I don't want and not pass over one that could work and I don't know it yet. I'm in Long Island, N.Y. so most options are hours away and I can't simply just go look at them and see. As such I am thinking of going the ebay/uship route, but information on the machines in the listings is often very limited. I passed up 2 already that could have worked, but didn't know it. Looking for machines 1980's or older.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first go round, so I am still wet behind the ears so to speak. Thanks muchly

Welcome!!!

This works for me, I suggest you study it because there will be a test later on, all newbies have to take it.

This may help you with the engines and transmissions. The hitch is something that is an option and can vary from model to model.

Click on the model no. for details.

Tractordata seems to be the best thus far. Only catch is that it works for the models I put in. I have since found some that I didn't even know existed. lol.
I'll keep at it, seems the most likely solution is to keep looking up just about every model I come across and am unsure of and hope for the best. I figured if I assembled a list of them all then I could actually search for them as I'm sure there are sale listings that don't come up. All good. I'm sure all will eventually work out. thanks

Are you looking for a cat 0 or just a sleeve hitch?

Cat 0 hitches weren’t offered on cubs from the factory until the second half of the 82 series starting in about 1983. They are a fairly rare option even then.

Sleeve hitches could be had on everything before that. Those are (were) a lot more popular, and generally pretty easy to install. You can usually pick a used one up for ~100 bucks if you look around. They aren’t really a 3 point hitch, but can lift rear mounted implements and you can get adapter kits that let you use things like Brinley implements and whatnot.

You can get aftermarket 3 point kits to go on earlier cubs. Those cost a lot more.

Rule of thumb for cubs from 1961-1979 is the first two numbers are the horsepower. If it ends in an odd number it’s a hydro. So you’d want a 105, 107,109,123,125,127,129,147,149, 169 etc. the 1050,1250,1450 and 1650 are all hydros too.

Once you get past 1981 things get weird number-wise, and your best bet is to look up the model number to see what it is.

That probably helps him more than anything. You got the model numbers all jumbled out of series order, but you did good! Looks like you got them all!

There isn't a 1050 in the QL series though. There is a 1050 in the same series as an 1811 (3rd series of CCC) but it is a gear drive. In the QL series, the only 10hp tractor was the 1000 and it was also a gear drive.

Was listing by horsepower

Oops you’re right. The 800,1000 and 1200 were all gear drive.

In the 82 series, the 682,782 and 982 were all hydro as well. And after that, they are all more likely to have hydro than not, as well as almost all being over 10hp. You just have to look out for which ones are cheaper lawn tractors vs more heavily built garden tractors.

So, the complete list of >10hp hydro cub cadets from 1961-1981:
123
105,125
107,127,147
109,129,149,169
1250,1450,1650
682,782,982
(682/782 were 17hp from factory, and 982 was ~20hp)

Everything from the 123-782 has a sleeve hitch optional.
You could get a cat 0 3 point on 782s and 982s built after ~1982 (and I think earlier 982s as well?). I don’t think they ever offered a sleeve hitch for the 982.

Other thing to think about is the lift mechanism. Some are manual, some are electric, some are hydraulic. There’s a lot of variation in that between different lines and options.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
