However, after messing around for a couple of hours, the info is now documented. I did find a detailed rebuild thread on MTF from a couple years back but there were NO part numbers unfortunately. The gland nut wrench I borrowed from my Dad was a CTA 8600. In the neighborhood of $30. The cylinder IS still available NEW from manufacturer. http://www.customcylindersintinc.com...ift-cylinder-0 Certainly if a person did not have access to speacialty tools then buying a new cylinder is much more palatable at that price point.

I give you a lot of credit for rebuild it. Even if it doesn't last at least you know how it comes apart.

Good job on that. (even if it doesn't last). My 2284 power steering cylinder rebuild is still holding strong. I have not leaked a drop of fluid. I've been using my tractor all winter blowing snow and taking my two year old son for rides around the yard. Where there's a will there's a way... Oh, and I have an extra lift cylinder in my garage in perfect condition... just sayin.
