The ST745 is still available. IMHO, for $68.00 it ain't worth fussing with. See: http://ccspecialties.org/implementparts_2.html

The balls are only half of the bearing. I have cut the races in half on several noisy bearings and the races were as rough as a gravel road. Don't waste your time replacing the balls.

Hell, I was looking at Partstree for $250 each and at that price I was willing to rebuild them. Gloating at you-know-who would have been just the icing on the cake. I'll spend the $68 but I still have to dissect the old spindle because I have a tinker addiction.

Partstree is a piss poor place to buy parts from. A lot of times, they are more than a dealer is. Find another place to buy parts from.

I actually have a couple of the BCA ones that I could spare, got a deal on a bundle of them a while back. There were more than I needed but got an all or none deal.

Is BCA the tapered or the ball bearing type?

Got my new bearings
Thanks to Dodge Trucker who just sent me 3 of these for a nice price. If I recall, he had a couple more that he may be able to sell.
When I have time I'll get out my new breaker bar, new impact gun, and a propane torch and work on the old spindle nuts. They've been soaking in PB for a few weeks but they're rusty and stubborn, so any pointers to remove them would be welcome.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
