Well, I was under the impression, that OBO meant an offer lower than the asking price. Per the incident previously mentioned, the seller meant the best highest price (auction format). Thus, the confusion on the meaning of OBO.
All we try to do, is ensure the listing is clear with no confusion(s).

We look for:
(A) A clear description of what is being sold,
(B) A location of where the item is located - City & State
(C) A listing price (whether firm or negotiable)
(D) A form a contact

It is as simple as that and the listing is FREE.

No offense to anyone, but couldn't it be put in the rules that OBO is okay, as long as it isn't in the auction format.

YES, it would be. The problem is getting people to read the Rules and Ad Policy.

I can't tell you how many times a week that we have to amend, correct, or ask people to make their Ads correct. Then the PM's and E-Mail's come, citing everything from " sorry that I didn't know", to harsh & ugly, someone is offended, some one is pi$$ed, that ain't fair, and "none of your business" comments.

Doesn't seem to be a happy answer here.

I would like to see it stay the same as it has always been. I have purchased a couple items as well as sold with no issues. I don't know if it's possible without a bunch of software changes, but my idea would be to have a seller read the selling guidelines and check a box that they understand the policy. If they choose to not check the box they can go no further. They can sell it on evilpay otherwise. Kelly

I agree with Allen. Well put - now the standard has been set. We know that this form makes everyone happy.

95% of the Sellers get it right. It's just the 5% that make all the noise.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
