Default 20th Annversary

OCC was founded on March 05, 2007 by David O'Steen and myself. We are celebrating our 11th anniversary. Only the other day, did I discover, that March 5th is celebrated by Moderator Sam Mac's birthday, but also the birthday of our new sponsor's forum www.ihcubcadet.com. They started 03/05/1998, 20 years ago.

I started my Cub Cadet experience over there (2003) 15+ yrs ago. Back then it was owned by a guy named Bob Necker. Necker sold out to Charlie Proctor and he has been the Captain of the ship for a good number of years now. Charlie has made vast improvements to keep his site going and strong.

Charlie and I have been friends for around 17 yrs. We have a mutual respect and help each other out.

I extended a heart felt and warm congratulations to Charlie for his accomplishments.

Some guys know this. Some members follow both sites. And if you didn't know....now you do.

Thanks guys for all the information I have got from here. A Little history When I hung up my gun belt retiring after 30 years of law enforcement, I took another profession of trucking and did that for 12 years. When I turned 65 I decided it was time to retire for good.
I found the basket 1450 from a very dear friend and started working on it, i was hooked, Now I have 7 cubs 2 of which is being restored.
A big thanks to both of you guys for the information I have learned from these sites.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
