Remember when you swap out you have to use the Cyclops engine cradle. As Sam Mac said swap out what you need to and it should fit right in. Leave the Radiator between the engine and Dash tower. Chang out the radiator hoses to what are on the 2182. The electrical should be pretty easy. You shouldn't have to change anything on it. The WG600 is a wg600 no matter what it's in. They all have identical components. I really think you are making it out to be way more than it actually is. just my 2 cents though.

Read/reread post number 12.

The replacement engine is a WG600 B.The fan hit the crank shaft pulley. There is less distance between the center of water pump shaft and the center of the crankshaft on a WG600B than a WG600. I tried to talk the owner into installing a non Kubota engine in the 2182. He wants a Kubota engine in it. He doesn't want to spend a small fortune to get his 2182 running again.

To change to a non Kubota engine requires a different motor plate, engine spacers, muffler, heat shield, battery tray, fire wall and a drive shaft from a 2084 or a 2284.
Need a different grill insert because the exhaust goes out the right side on a Kubota powered tractor.
Wire harness needs modified because the battery is in a different location and you are going to an engine that has a magneto ignition.
Front PTO clutch.....Will the one from the Kubota engine fit on the replacement engine(non Kubota)????? The owner replaced the front PTO clutch 4-5 years ago. Cost was around $350 to $400 them.

Looks like I will have $600 to a $1000 (guess) in parts to go to a non Kubota engine. Question comes down to is the 2182 worth fixing???? Not sure what a running 2182 is worth.

I had to deal with budgets ll the time when I still work (retired June 2017).There comes a time when you have to make the hard decision.

There is a very simple fix. Put an electric fan on the radiator. They are relatively inexpensive and your fan problem is solved.

I understand the guy not wanting a small fortune in the 2182. But if it’s got rear PTO and 3pt then when it’s done it’s worth at least 2000$.
If he’s set on s kubota engine it sounds like there is two options, either locate an engine out of another 2182,or take the parts off the 2182 engine you have to get your wg600b to work.

Check low profile radiator fans. They are thinner and you should be able to find one that is the same diameter as the original fan. I've seen them from 5 inches and up.

It's 2-1/2 inches deep. It should fit nicely. They have others on that site you can check out.

Fan is 2 1/2 deep. Have 1 3/4 space (radiator to water pump shaft).

I check with Jegs and Summit.
Another concern I have is will the charging system handle it.

May be able to get that out of the tractor as it sits in parts. The Kubota dealer thought there may be some difference between the engines. He suggested I don't try.

There is another topic started in Wanted items by me looking for a Kubota engine for 2182. Here it is

I am looking for a Kubota WG600 gas engine for a Cub Cadet 2182.
Contact information is in my profile.

There is another topic that started out as looking for a Kubota engine. Some how that topic turned into putting an engine in a 2182 that is not a Kubota engine.

This topic should only deal a Kubota WG600 engine.

Thank You for your support.

I uploaded both manuals a few days ago. It got to be a PITA me having to e-mail them every time someone wanted them.
Thanks Sam.

I have a paper copy for the 2182 and Kubota engine

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
