Default A good 149 day

Yesterday I saw a 149 on CL for $300. Looked the normal old used condition but ran very good, complete, and came with a nice 42" blade and nice rear tires along an extra running 14hp motor. Seller also said it came with a homemade rear lift. Very few of the PO modifications have I left on any tractor, however I think this one is a keeper. The one bracket has been bent and needs to be fixed..

That 149 should clean up pretty decent with some elbow grease. That rear lift is pretty cool too especially with the drawbar. Sounds like a good deal all around especially with a spare 14 hp

Looks really neat! Even though the three point is a bit crude looking I bet it works pretty good.. wouldn't take much to clean it up and make it look factory.. might need some stronger or heavier lower arms though..

I'm with you.. clean it up and improve it and it's a keeper!

Sweet deal. Spare motor is worth at least half of what you paid. You did good!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
