Default Welders

Okay, got an email on these. What do you guys & gals think about them? They come with a 1 year risk free trial & money back guarantee.

Mig, Tig & Stick for $800.

What do these people do? Do they take someone else's design, send it to Chinatown and remanufacture it under their name?

I'd give the one for $800 a try. Probably be fine if your not doing commercial welding.

Most likely it is re engineered in China.. Just for the record I have never seen anybody have much luck with anything electrical from Harbor Freight if it is used hard or daily.. It would probably be ok for homeowner/hobby use.. Especially if you can try it out for a year with no risk.
I have two Miller machines that are 20 and 25 years old... never gave me any problems at all.. BUT, I depend on these machines almost daily and I have a very good Miller dealer right around the corner. I can stop in there any time and get my supplies and very good advice if I do have an issue..

Personally I'd spend a little more and get a machine for a lifetime.. but that's just me.. I certainly wouldn't blame you for giving these a risk free trial.. they appear to be about half price from a comparable Miller..

The Miller inverter welders started showing up around here about two years ago.. and man I can tell you they weld nice!! I want one bad... but It's hard to pony up the 1100 dollars for one.. I would be interested to know if you try one of these out..

I would be willing to bet it's a re engineered China Miller..

I'm along the thinking of jaynjeep. Maybe for occasional hobby use but what if there is a manufacturing defect?

I have a Hobart Handler 187 mig welder and a Hobart combo welder ( stick / TIG ) and parts are still available for both of them plus support.

Minus welding gas cylinders, I got both for $1200 ready to weld.

I've never seen these before and I guess that is a new line for them. I was just seeing if anyone owned one or used one. It's half the price of an Esab 252i or EMP 215 but I'm not sure that is enough savings to justify it.

I will add that Harbor Freight seems to be improving and adding to their product line rapidly.. Their new product lines seem to be headed more toward the professionals... but the prices are going up considerably also. Their new pro line of cordless tools are very close to Dewalt prices..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
