Engine Complete
Finished the engine assembly today. I know, I know...the muffler isn't stock. It will have to do until I can re-build an original I have.
Installing the anti-rattle clips on the PTO clutch was alot of fun...grrrrrr!

Re-Installing the Engine
Drop the engine back in the frame today also. Everything went quite smooth.

With my son, EricR Super 2084 with 54" mower, 451 blower. 2086 with 3 pt hitch, 54 inch deck, 551 blower, 54 in brinly blade. A 4 digit original w deck. A 70 with deck. 2 102s both with 42 in decks, one with creeper, 1 36 inch IH snow thrower CW36, 1 42 inch IH blade. 149 with mower. 2072 w 3 pt hitch, Johnny bucket, 60 in mower, 451 blower. Jacobson GT 10 with mower. DR Lawn vac tow behind,Home made lawn roller. Brinly cart, 2 off brand carts and 1 home made cart.

Hey, thanks everyone - appreciate the nice words.
I wanted to mention that I had to use a tank sealer on the gas tank. Just to much rust inside for my taste. I used a couple of products that did a very nice job on the clean up and sealing. I'm probably about an hour away from start up. I'm missing a small piece that clamps my choke cable down - need to finish attaching the wiring harness to the engine. I'm using a diesel engine oil for break-in then I'll switch to synthetic. Hope I got my wiring all correct - need to jump those terminals on the voltage regulator also. Well, almost there...

Throttle and Choke Linkage
Someone asked me how I remembered how to run the throttle and choke linkage after removing it so long ago.
Truth is, this 149 didn't have a carb when I rescued it. - fact is, half the linkage pieces were missing also! So, just how then did I know how to run the linkage? A manual? good answer, but no. The manual I have has pictures to dark to show the linkage hook up. Ok, so just how then did I know? Well, I did what any good cubber would do... I bought another 149 and took pictures of it! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!
