SGT w/54" IH Dozer Blade
The IH designed 54" Dozer Blade, I assume was designed for strictly for GT applications. I am aware, there is a 54" Haban built dozer blade for SGT's. BUT IF..... one was to mount the IH type of blade on a SGT, I assume that either (A) a custom fabricated Sub Frame, or (B) some extensions to the GT sub frame, would have to be made...???
OR, is there any other alternatives....???

I have been wanting to put an IH blade on my 982, since I have several of the blades and that way I can stick with all IH, as well. I hesitate to cut into some original equipment, even though I have several of them......
Going to keep my eye on this thread. Thanks for posting it up Roland. Cub Cadet 123

Sam: The 190-401-100 is a Haban Blade.

Yep, that the only one that was offered so if you want to hang the IH blade the was used on the GT's you'll have to fab up the frame. If I was going to do that I'd copy the Haban frame.

Yeah, it looks like to put my designing skills to work. The project is for my Son who just bought a 2072. Thank God I talked him away from a JD 318.

Why would the subframe have to be redesigned?

The SGT have a longer frame and sit higher than a GT.

Yes, I know that.
I would probably build a new subframe also.... but you could easily modify the original to fit. The lift is the big issue. Frame is easy. |

He is bringing it home today. Next time I get over to his place I'll have to size up the situation. Got all summer to get this ready for the winter snow duties.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
