Yea it is a 308. Sorry forgot to say that but I only put 7.62 through it for now to test fire it.

1000 yards is pretty far, i once walked a 1000 yards but had to stop halfway for a snack. seriously thats a good looking gun, congrats.

Thanks Olds I have a range about 45 min. away that goes out that far which is nice since I got tired of only shooting 100 yards. I enjoy the challenge at that distance.

What do you guys know about a Civil War era LW Pond 32 Cal. spur trigger pistol? Ser #5014 I believe.

Sweet!! Very nice work, looks like some nice components on it. Have you considered changing the buffer tube/spring and running something like a PRS stock, or does it feel good the way it is? I really like the PRS on mine, nice to see another LR-308 on here. This is mine.

Once you get out over 200 yards, it really shows who knows how to shoot and who just flings BS

I had the "pleasure" of knocking down a loud mouth a couple notches by handing him my M1 Garand and he shot it from prone with open sights at 200 yards. ( NRA 200 yard Hi Power target. )

Jeff,
Very nice rifle, my second favorite to the M-14. I served 21 years in the Navy as a Gunner and it was a very sad day for me when I had to turn in my last seven ceremonial M-14's. Even though they were ceremonial I always found an excuse to shot them when we did shipboard qualifications.

Yes, you are correct many a man have walked off my firing range with their tail between their legs after talking trash and not being able to back it up at the 200 yard range. Nothing like pep sights and being able to make corrections on the fly.

I have not shot this enough yet to know if I want to change stocks it has 2 rounds down the tube so far. As far as shooting things like the M1 at 200 yards my hat is off to you guys because I am a scope user past 100. If I have my model 94 in my hands don't be the thing I'm aiming at out to 100 tho. I have done 3" groups on a paper plate free hand with the irons on that.
