Default LT1046 Mystery Wire?

New member here~I am in the process of trying to figure out how to start my LT1046. This spring went to start it up, and nothing, no clicks, no turnover. The headlights work and dash lights, but when you turn key nothing. Well, I've been reading some posts on here and trying things out one by one.

In the process of taking the shroud off and cleaning up everything, this wire popped out from underneath the air cleaner shroud and I have no idea where it came from. Then I started taking loose the screw of what I thought was holding the air cleaner shroud on and I noticed it's like spring loaded, so I stopped.

Does anyone know what this wire goes to, and how to take off that shroud? The screw I am referring to is to the left of the green wire in the picture and just above those numbers.

I don't know where your wire goes, but you posted this in the wrong section. You will get more responses in the "lawn tractor" section.

I can't say for sure, but I suspect a Ground Wire.

Looking @ the wiring diagram, it appears all green wires are as Roland suspected, ground wires.
Are you sure all safety switches are made?
brake applied, setting on the seat, pto switch off, and looks like there are switches on Left and right, forward & reverse.
Also make sure battery is fully charged after setting all winter.

Default LT1046 Courage Engine Model 13AP11CH710 2004

After I posted this, I saw I had posted it in wrong forum, as I said I'm new! I didn't know how to switch it or if you could at this point, or delete it and start all over in the right forum.

I followed it to the other end and it's grounded to the tractor and that other end looks like it's never been attached to anything??? Maybe some accessory that this one didn't have I'd have to guess... That screw I loosened and then retightened though, I believe is a way to adjust the carburetor so I hope I haven't messed that up (BTW I screwed it all the way in then backed it off one turn and a half, does anyone know what that should be???)

Since I last posted, I ran a ground cable from battery to starter bolt and voila, it cranked & started. So, now I need to get a new cable wired up, I'm thinking that was my whole problem.

I think the only screw adjustment on the carb is for idle speed.
And I would like to welcome you to OCC.
