New guy from WI
New to the site but have been reading it on and off for a few years.
Been a Cub owner for a few decades, started with a 108 and now have a 3240 along with a couple of parts tractors. One is a 3208 with 580 hours on it that was used for snow removal, the sheet metal rusted out. The other is a 3165 that is really clean but lacks an engine. Here is a pic of my 3240 dressed for winter.. |

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm going to try to set up my Cub so it should hopefully last for years to come. There are a few things I want to add/build for/to it still. I'm up in the air about which engine is better, the Kohler Command 22 or the FD620D Kawasaki? My guess is they are both good engines but in the long run the Kohler would cost less to maintain. It would be nice to have two tractors but I don't really have the room or need, but a back up would be nice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
