What's in a name?
I was talking to a life long friend of mine yesterday and this just kind of slipped out, so I thought it was worth sharing...
My buddy and I have always called things at face value and so we were talking about the global demographics and how much the world has changed in the last 10 years and even in the last 5 years. As we mentioned the civil unrest in the USA, we couldn't help but notice the terror attacks in France and the coup in Turkey......(and I am not making light of this event, just the namesake of it)....but a Dove coos (coup), so shouldn't it be called a gobble for Turkey? Well, it brought back memories of being a kid and watching Gallagher (buying a whole chess set at a pawn shop, buying a tv set and only getting one, a pair of pants and only getting one, but what do you get when you buy a bra?....etc.) so we both laughed and had a great conversation at a much needed time in our lives. I think Gallagher was the one who smashed watermelons in front of the audience.
yep...laughter is getting harder to come by... I hate to watch the national news anymore because of all the violence. I prefer to watch the old western movies .. Lots of shooting but the good guy always wins and saves the day..all in less than an hour.

Talking about Gallagher. My wife works at the Fox theatre in St. Louis Missouri. In the 90's Gallagher came to the Fox and my friends asked for tickets. My wife had no idea who Gallagher was and asked how good of tickets should she get. I told her get whatever you can. She got second row.
The day of the show she called me. Now some groups ask for some weird stuff. M&M's but pick out the red ones and the like. So she proceeds to tell me Gallagher's crew. Has asked for 13 watermelons, a Wendy's triple burger, 100' of rope, sour cream and a bottle of douche. She's thinking they have some weird roadies. Guess who found out about the " Sledge-O-matic". Just for those who want to know. sour cream goes the farthest and the smell of vaporized vinegar douche you can't forget. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
