Default 3185 3 point hitch

Has any one ever put a 3 point on a 3000 series? They seem to be hard to find or non existent. Anyone ever build one ? Are there any prints to build, they look like it would be useful to have.

Your right the 3 point hitch for a 3000 series is hard to find but are out there I'm in the process of piecing one together for my GT3100. Oak is another member and told me that if you can find one of these for under $500.00 to buy it. If you look back in ccc/mtd forum at the top right go to # 4 you can see where I was asking about this same topic and you will see where oak posted a picture of a complete 3 point for a 3000 series.

If you look at some pictures, and whip out your tape measure, it doesnt look difficult to build. even the cylinder isnt a huge deal, find a person with a mill to cut the float slot n weld it on... i mean, do you see where im goin here? Its all pretty well straight forward, but good luck with whatever you do!

oh, not to mention it will be cheaper to build also, found the swivel ends for 6.11 ea

Curtm, I can't figure out why Cub Cadet doesn't offer these yet. The 3000 series machines were built up until 5 or 6 years ago IIRC. Here is one of mine on my 3205.

As the others have said, I don't think they would be that hard to build and if I ever get my shop built that will be one of my first projects. I even thought about contacting Ruegg or Xtreme to see if they would be interested in copying the NOS one I have.
Keep searching, sometimes they will come up for sale or maybe purchase a complete machine and pull the hitch. Good luck.

The hitch on the left(#207) is for the tractors with the single disc brake. The one on the right is the 365 hitch and it is for the tractors with dual disc brakes. I think the only difference is the mounting of the hydraulic cylinder.

Curt, I'll see if I can get some better pics for you.

Kolpin makes a pretty nice but pricey hitch CAT 0 that all it needs is a standard 2" receiver t hook into.

Worth a look?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
