Yes. I found an old post that led me to it. Going to be a great time this end of winter, early spring. Lots of rebuilds and ad-ons for my 122.

That is a De-lux kit... and Jeff got my last one. I'll have more in about a week.

I simply cant understand why the carb to engine and air cleaner to carb gasket aren't included in a kit... If you rebuild a carburetor, don't you really want new gaskets to put it back on with???

Default progress

I know you all like pictures. I made some progress this weekend. I installed the 3 point lift and fabricated some hitch pins out of 1/2" round stock. Just getting it into my workshop was a challenge. Next is a good cleaning, install the lower hitch plate and rebuild the carb. Then change the engine and rear end oils.

If I need to change the gasket for the rear end cover plate, should I use gasket sealer?

I always do but then again I just use rtv with no gasket. I always clean the cover and rearend with a cleaning wheel on a grinder then put the cover on with permetex ultra black, I've never had a leak and its stuck on there so good you need a hammer and chisel to get it back off.

I have used dry gaskets, gaskets smeared with a very thin coat of grease and used gaskets over again, all with good results.

Within the past few years, I have grown to like Permatex® Form-A-Gasket® No. 2 Sealant. It doesn't get dry and hard, it cleans up easily and gaskets can be reused (if you're half way careful when you take it apart again).

I think it's probably more important to make sure the mating surfaces are clean and not damaged before you put it back together. I like to use the scotch-brite disks on a die grinder to clean them (but not on aluminum).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
