My dad kept an old hay hook in his tool box to "dig" the bits and pieces of fawns out of his reel type haybines. He also tried to scoot the fawns out of the way if he saw them in time. When they switched to disc-bines they might see the pieces on the next round but never felt them go thru the crusher rolls. A nesting turkey is a completely different story. First time dad plucked one of her nest it dropped the tractor (856) rpms by 50% and nearly put him into the steering wheel. They are dense like bowling balls.

Now being this late, the fawns likely will run off before being ground up. But first crop is a whole different thing. With the speed these machines cut, they (fawns) don't stand a chance.
The hay should have been off today, but it rained again. Imagine that.

Finished harvest
Today they came in and finished the field. Put it all into rows, and came in with the chopper. Man, didn't take as long as it used to.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
