old homies kick ass....wont spin above 8k-9k but theyll hold it all day, same as most older american saws even old stihls ran limited coils...more torque saws...i started climbing with a homelite xl2, then went to an echo, cs-300...i threw it out of a tree... i am not an echo fan, and to be honest i have never met another guy in the woods with one...i have seen some Japanese lightweight bars being used but even theyre coming up with big problems, (check out chainsaw guy and lightweight bars)...now for cutting firewood and stuff like that, i think theres alot of good brands, echo included...but fact is when in the woods falling timber or any sort of production cutting i only see 3, (mostly 2) brands out there for real, Stihl, Huskee, and cant forget Dolmar...I watched the echo challenge...they lost...wasnt a profesional firm that would give up their Stihls.....but anyways...guess its a ford chevy thing...but German, best dealer network and support, i could give my reasons but who cares really, and the 200t will go down in history as the BEST chainsaw for intended purpose EVER....only thing sucks is price....but cut with, or trim with whatever floats your boat...in fact, my other favorite kind is pulling one off the side of the road and giving it a little tlc and run run run, no matter what color it is.......

id love for you to run my Luci with a 32# buried in oak and tell me you've used anything like that before.....hold on is all ill say....chips the size of peas flying at you, spinning 13.5,(in wood) unless youre REALLY prying on her with the dawgs sunk then you might get her down to 11k, and before you even know it watch for dirt so you dont wreck my full chisel chain i spent 30mins hand filing just before on the tailgate..or noodle with her and just watch the shear amount of wood come out the bottom...

size and performance can sometimes be 2 different things..090 was the biggest displacement saw ever made, but a hot 066 will smoke it and thats like 125ccs!!.the newer 880s are actually smaller and make more power and cut faster and weigh half as much....my 460mag will burn a stock 66,and then some... now the 66 i built for my neighbor will pull a full house full chisel 42" like nothing..its not even right...but piston ported 2 strokes are the highest performing engines on the planet...lot of science to something seemingly so simple...took me a while to find my magic timing #s and it still varies, between combustion chamber, and other variables but put the degree wheel on there and get a die grinder and lathe and have at her...

excuse my rant....

Well I guess I know what to buy if I decide to become a lumberjack.
But for now I'll stick with my little Echo 452lv. It's not failed me in 20yrs.
I like things that last and have nice features. NOBODY has a trimmer head that is as nice as Echos speedfeed. I see slot of Stils on lawn service trucks with Echo heads on them.

I've always liked this chainsaw the best. Might be hard to take up in a tree though.

Default Update!

I finally put the carb on this morning. The replacement was an identical replacement to the original. It fired right up and ran great for 5minutes until the throttle plate hung wide open.

I pulled it off and realigned the plate in the bore and tightened the screw. I also snugged the other 5 up.
I guess the 5 year old that assembled it needs to start working out!

Hopefully all's well now. I'm ready for a beer!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
