Haven't seen any farmer around here picking corn. The stalks still have a little green in them. I did hear that one farmer cut a 7 acre piece for silage and got 32 loads off just 7 acres. Not sure what size of loads but sounds like a lot of silage from just a small field. Our corn at its best was near 9 or 10 feet tall this year.

Beans are getting 65-70 and the corn is too high for them to tell me but they are running out of bins for it.

Well, since we aren't harvesting here, we added a Whopper Hopper to the top of one of the 1688's today.

Here's a couple pics of the install, and one of it done.

Well, I finally made it out the farm so I thought I'd share in this thread. Our corn is coming in at about 28% moisture or so, with no sight any real further drying out coming. The guy I work for got a shiny new bin put up this year, it's a 60,000bu bin. The first pic is the size of it compared to the 30,000 and 40,000 it's placed next to. Next up is a shot of our new grain truck. Cool story, didn't know they did it; apparently, it was a semi that a company in Davenport chopped, extended, and added a box to. I believe it, this thing has some POWER! Up hill in 6th gear topped off with wet corn and it was still pulling when you'd pin it Then, off in the distance, you could see we got the ripper running today. Next is a quick shot of the wet bin emptying into the new dryer. The corn is so wet, the dryer is literally dripping The next pic is a shot of me getting my load, that's a fun machine to drive. And finally, a panoramic shot from the top of the new pic. Enjoy guys!

I take it there's a good New Holland dealer in the area?

Gravel pit where Dad retired from ran three of the big NH TJs on scrapers. Wanted the megaflow hydraulics. I think they were 450s.

All red and green around here. Guy I went to HS with (and I worked fall of '09 for) had been solid green for 30+ years. He has two Steiger 600s now, and a few big Challengers. When I worked for him they had 2 JD 9420s but weren't happy with the engines.

Default Just getting started

We just were able to start beans, about 12% moisture, and then the rain came! Three and a half inches in two days. Are corn is probably a month out yet, pretty green. Good news is that gave me time to cruise down to Illinois today and grab a 1650 twin stick from another member, lawn guy. Very nice guy and nice to meet another member!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
