Default Thoughts on Traxxas

Traxxas Slash 4x4 VXL Brushless RTR Short Course RC Truck LIPO COMBO PACKAGE. Anyone running one of these?
My old stuff is, well old. And was thinking of one of these for yard bashing. Getting the itch again after 15 or so years away from the hobby. NOT going to be racing competitively, just around the yard and gravel piles with a couple other guys...
Anyone have one? Good or bad, would like your thought.

Traxxas is a great backyard basher and their parts support is second to none, Traxxas has the market cornered on durability. Traxxas isn't competitive on a track against other brands but since you won't be racing that's a non-issue. Another thing you might want to check out is the new Traxxas trx4, it's a scale crawler with real axles and locking diffs and a bunch of cool options, it has a two speed trans that's controlled by the radio so you can crawl in first and rip around in second.

Thanks Tim.
I was half asleep last night when I posed this. Should have been in the RC section. Oh well.

Tim is right on the money! And with the right batteries and gearing, that slash will give you a smile a mile wide! The brushless lipo rigs will flat haul some mail!

I have an RC 10 frankencar that I have clocked over 80MPH multiple times. It has a 100MPH in it if I could find a safe place to turn it loose!

Yeah, from what I've read, the lipo batteries are the only way to go. Last time I had any of my OLD stuff out, there was no such thing.

Hey, could buy a good tractor for the price of a "toy".
The Land Rover isn't my first choice. Not even a little...

I'm not a Land Rover fan either but there are a ton of bodies for crawler trucks, if I get one I will probably go with an 80's Chevy truck body.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
