LXT 1045 mower height
I have had issues with the mower deck height from day-one. If my tires go down just 2 or 3 pounds, the mower deck seems to scalp the grass. I mow at the highest level and the deck adjustment screw under the muffler is all the up.
I also have the mower deck dolly wheels set at the lowest point so the deck will ride the highest. It seems I have done all I can do. Any suggestions? Is there another adjustment somewhere else on the mower deck? Thanks, Daniel |

I would keep the correct amount of air in the tires. Look on the tire it will give you the amount to inflate them. Under inflated tires will effect the cutting of the mower deck.

If your tires are leaking that bad, put tubes in them. We're running some tires that are 30+ years old and they never need air added. Personally, when I run into a non-automotive tubeless tire that leaks, I put in a tube.

Yep, definitely need to keep a watch on the tires; however, even with the tires pumped up all the way, I still think the deck is too low.
I'm looking for a mechanical way of lifting the deck. Daniel |

Maybe you just have unreal expectations for the height.
Grass should be cut no higher 2" or maybe 3" in my opinion. |

I'm at 1-3/8 working down to 1".

Ugh. I can understand a higher cut for that.
I do not envy you my friend. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
