JD 317 with a rear mounted snowblower.
A friend of mine wanted a snowblower and a front blade on the same tractor so he built this himself. It is a very neet setup. It looks like it works pretty good. I know its a JD but still very cool.

He does have a 129 cub with hyd lift. The problem with a cub is making them lift independently. I think it would work better on a 140 H3 then he would not have to chain it up to use the hyd angle on the blade. He has a diverter valve for doing that but we are yet to plumb it in.

I like that it's mulit-funtional- you can do two jobs with one tractor, and that it has operable weight on the rear end. That being said, my neck already hurts. It needs giant truck mirrors mounted on the hood.

That is awesome, I want to do that. I may have missed something obvious, how did he power the blower? I don't see a belt from the front, rear pto? I see him flipping a lever, is it powered off the hydro pump output shaft? Is there another forum where he posted a build?
Thanks Bill |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
