782 electrical help.
I'm working on this CCC made 782 and I'm having a bit of an issue. The PTO won't engage with the switch but it will if I jump the wires together at the plug on the switch. When the switch is off it has continuity between terminals F and B and when the switch is on it has continuity between A and B. I have two switches here that test out the same which leads me to believe the switch is fine. As I sit here looking at the wiring diagram it almost has to be something to do with the reverse cutout. Any other ideas I should check out?

Seat switch or reverse cut-out, if it has either.

First let me be clear, I don't advocate by-passing any safety switch on a permanent basis, but ---- You can jump (bypass) each one, one at a time, to see the results and decide if that particular switch is functioning. If you find a bad one, you'll know what to replace. Easy.

That's what i was thinking, the seat switch is already bypassed so i will check on the reverse cutout later.

Tim, do you have the correct switch?
On a CCC 782 you should have continuity on the C & D terminals (red wires) in the "off" position PTO start -- continuity between B-A-F (black-brown-orange) PTO on -- B & A (black & brown) They didn't use the reverse relay on the IH built 782's. Do you need the schematic?

Tim, I just looked at your other post and with a 712xxx you don't have the reverse relay and the above wiring in my post is not the same.
Continuity as follows On = B(tan)-A(tan/black) Off = B(tan)-E(violet) & C(red)-D(orange/black)

Good call, I guess this tractor would have the IH wiring.

Do you have a wiring diagram for your use?

Ok, problem solved. Turns out i'm an idiot and didn't check the fuse, both the fuse and the cap were missing so i stole one from a parts tractor and now it works.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
