Default Original Cub 126 Seat

Does anybody know what the original seat would have been on a Cub 126? The seat on mine is ripped pretty good, and I don't think it is original. I'd like to source the correct style.

Thanks!

I believe that came with the six pad seat and I heard through the grapevine that you can still buy them from Cub. I'm sure Lew will be along shortly to correct any bad information I may have given.

Unless Cub Cadet has the wrong picture loaded for their part, yes, the 6-pad is still available. See below link.

I don’t think it was the 6 pad. It was the somewhat textured all one radius mid back before the 6 pad but yes, let’s let Yoda Palma school us with his Jedi knowledge.

It is not the 6 pad, it is the one piece textured one.

Alvy, didn't you see my seat collection?

One of these three will work, but the one in the next picture is correct.

I hope that you’re holding on to them still but if this young man wants it you have my blessing . As you know I have tried to buy the fiberglass one and the single plane one in the past and no dice.

I will say that Lew did sell me a “money” 6 pad seat for my 800 and it was/is the nicest 6 pad I’ve ever seen. Normally even when the vinyl looks good it may be very brittle and crack badly when sat on. Mine is still very nice years later and has seen some tuchus time as well.

It is the one on the right. Never looked good IMO. The 6 pad didn't come out until the quietline.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
