Default Hello from Bob in PA

Greetings to everyone. I'm glad to be onboard. My Dad passed away a few years ago and he had a 123 Cub that he bought new back in 1966 when I was just a kid. We all mowed with it for years before he bought a used Farmall 140 and the cub has been in a shed for years. I recently brought it and the Farmall to my nice new garage and got it running again and have started restoring it I am really enjoying bringing it back to it's former glory. I'm so glad to have found this site as I am sure it will be a big help along the way. Once I figure out how to attach pictures, I will send some along. Thanks everyone.

you'll find a wealth of knowledge, and some good folks here.
Congrats on Cub Cadet's first hydro, but mostly, keeping the 123 in the family...

Thanks to everyone. My Dad actually bought a new cub with manual trans and a short time later they came out with the hydrostatic one so he traded the new one in for the 123. I was probably around 12 at the time but I remember it well. I will try to send some pictures along.[ATTACH]PICT0431.jpg

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
