Looking good Sam. If I ever get into my 1782 I might give you a call.

Btw I thought the purpose of the fuel solenoid was to prevent backfiring on engine shutdown? I know that they all get circumsized but does anyone ever have a loud flame thrower after surgery? I know that most of us let them idle for a while before shutdown but I’m just curious.

If you have one that wants to diesel after you turn the key off just pull the choke.

What is the purpose of the screw?
I have one on a CH 18 and I am curious, does it work like the throttle stop on the k series engines ?

Does that mean the engine runs higher rpm then a stock18?

Same RPM.. the screw just limits the opening of the throttle blade on the 18 to about 75%.. kinda like a restrictor plate.. so it was just a cheap way for Kohler to build the same engine and rate them as two different engines.. Governor must also be reset to gain full use of the extra 2 hp

Won't blow it up Lew.. just allows more air and fuel in at the time.. Won't allow any more RPM.

I hope to be done with this one this week. Wiring is almost finished. Just need to redo the battery cables, hook up the fuse for the PTO and connect it to the battery then I need to put the split loom on the wire harness. Everything works as it should. Low oil press light and low fuel light work, PTO turns on and off, it's charging as it should, headlights work as you can see in the pics.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
