There are plenty of that vintage around, you just have to pay the price, never great deals like our northern friends find (see Lew, I was nice and didn't say Yankee). Attachments on the other hand, well mower decks are standard--anything else and we do a double take!

In all seriousness, I can't see over $125 per machine, too much work moving them. Maybe a pulling club will buy all of them, keep the gear drives and sell the hydros and implements to support their habit. This is certainly the biggest stash I have ever heard of around here. About 10 years ago I talked to a fellow in that area that had 20 or 30 Cadets and wanting more if they were CHEAP. Don't think he did much with them, just bought them up. Have no idea if this is him or not.

A Cub with 8.50 tires is 35" wide and average 5.5' to 6' long, the average trailer is 8'6" wide and 53' long so you could get 20 cubs in it plus a ton of parts. It would still take three trips to get it all.

$243 a piece for tractors. Looks like North kakalacka is kind of the same as Where I am, rust happens even under some cover. I’ve seen cubs in NY that have been outside for years and all paint is still money. Salty air they say plus humidity.

If it wasn’t such a logistics and decision nightmare I like the idea of picking them up. As we all know all are worth way more in Parts than whole but I’m sure there’s some collectible stuff there.

Come on Lew get your tookas on down there, and make your new neighbors love you with having all those to retire with. Definately would need a big shack for all those parts!

Maybe he was a dealer at one time?

Oak, aren't you a Yankee?

Alvy, I have my own parked when ran ones.

Tim, prolly easier to buy his house with the cubs included.

Everyone should call him on Sunday.

That reminds me, I just picked up a “it ran when parked” one but can’t mention it on here. It was a great find none the less and has what I’ve been searching for down here for years.

Also btw I have been informed that a “yankee” comes down and then leaves but a “damn yankee” comes down and stays. Just making sure we are using the correct terms.

When you gonna start a thread on your new acquisition? Of course, it will have to be in the general discussion section.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
