Cotter Pin Alternatives for a 149?
This has probably been asked before, but I can't find the thread...anyway, I've been using my 149 a lot doing some grading work, which obviously involves using the hydraulic lift lever a lot to raise and lower the sleeve hitch. I keep shearing the cotter pins that link the lift arm with the rest of the mechanism. It's getting pretty annoying, cause I have to move the gas tank and replace the pin every time one breaks. Anyone else using something besides a cotter pin here, something that holds up better?

It requires a roll pin NOT a cotter pin.

Yodel pin. 3 characters, plus Snow Whites buddies.
Or is it a Ho Ho, or a giant swiss roll?

A Spirol pin is the preferred pin. Use a "spring" pin if you wish. I have taken remnants of spirol, coil, cheap screws that are rusted tight and the ever infamous bent nail out of many linkages. So, ol' George are you a happy camper now?
Personally, I have never liked Ho-Ho's or those knock off things that look like 'em. Now King Dongs...now those are a different story!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
