New to me 800!
Yesterday my wife and I took a little road trip to Ohio. I picked up the 800 that was owned by Beth (DeltaCub). It was very nice to meet yet another forum member. We also enjoyed the visit and was nice to check out some of the projects that she is currently working on. Overall it was a great day and could not have asked for nicer weather for a road trip
I'm sure most of you have already seen the 800 but here are a couple pictures of what it looks like sitting in New York |

Thanks Lew, can you educate me on the serial number? If I understand correctly the entire Quietline series shares a range of serial numbers. A 3 digit code before the "U" indicates what model it is. Also I believe there were 3 generations of the 800 possibly some engineering changes codes 050-052. If I'm wrong please correct me. Is there a way to tell what number 800 mine is out of the 2345 produced? Sorry for the rambling....

Martin,
That's a tough question, all I know is the amount made.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
