Default Cub 128 won't spark

New battery, new wiring harness (Thanks forum member Mlamar), new solenoid, new ignition switch, new coil, and a new spark plug. Does anyone have any idea where I should start? It turns over very well, but doesn't fire.

I would start with checking to see if you have 12VDC at the (+) positive terminal to the Ignition Coil, when measured to Chassis Ground (or Battery negative terminal).

See Kohler K series Ignition ..... http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27

If the "electric measuring thing" has a setting for DC volts, use that and report back the findings.

I don't see any mention of points or condenser in the original post.

Roland is asking how many volts you have, not if you have any but rather HOW MUCH--you need something other than a test light to answer his question. Basic Meters are pretty cheap these days and quite handy---certainly recommend this tool.

Have you tried just running a fine grit piece of sandpaper between the points?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
