Default Carb issue

Had a new Walbro (spelling?) put on by the dealer as the old carb kept leaking fuel out the throat. I guess it was due to a worn upper where the gov. attaches. They put it on at no charge (which was nice) but it seems to be running hotter? Perhaps it's just me. None the less I seem to recall this is common but it can be fixed? Please see attached

The way they mounted it I can understand why they didn't charge you, but I'm surprised it runs at all.

So, what's the question?
Do you want to know how to fix the old carb?
How to adjust the new one?
What carb is that a pic of? New or old?

It's sitting on a motorcycle guys.....

A wore out throttle shaft WILL NOT cause it to leak fuel.

Lol sorry I should have known better to provide specifics.

The carb is off my '71 126. It's the orig carb and I'd love to know how to fix it if possible.

Additionally how do I adjust a new one? JMECH I figure with your knowledge you can get me on the right track.

The carb pictured suddenly wpuld start tricking out gas causing the air filter to become saturated ans drip on the floor when sitting in the garage (not running). The only remedy was to shut the gas off.

Additionally the carb was resting on my ATC 350x...JMECH you nailed it.

I attached a pic of the carb (again) and where my thumb is , is where the gas would well up and trickle ever so slightly out.

if the carb is flooding then theres crud in the needle/seat area or the float is stuck down or the float has a hole in it and its filled with gas.

I didn't nail it.... ATC 350X is a three wheeler. I said motorcycle. I knew it was a Honda because of the air box, but that was about all I knew.

These guys are right.

If the throttle shaft is wore, or the carb is wore in the throttle shaft hole, then read up on it here:

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=10329

The service manual tells how to set the carb with initial settings. After that, you will need to fine tune it. Tuning a carb is a gift that not many have. I can't teach you how, I've tried to teach many guys who worked for me over the years.... you either understand it, or you don't. Sorry, I really can't help other than once you go to do it, if it isn't running right, post a video up so I can hear it, and maybe I can tell you what it needs. Guys will tell you it's easy. It is, if you understand how.

Good luck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
