GREAT PRODUCT!! Newsflash, they break also so if you have learned anything here it should be that you lack mechanical skills, equipment, problem solving techniques, and are just plain lacking in the RESOLVE it takes to fix something that is a problem. Not trying to be mean but I for one do not appreciate you smarty-pants in your face solution.

Wasn't meant as smarty pants. I need to mow my yard. Chasing down this problem has taken me longer then expected.
Got a JD400 that was sitting in shed for the last 20 years basically unused. picked it up for 800 with a 60 inch deck and 20hp. Ags on the back are kinda cool.

And if I was lacking resolve why would I be posting on this board. And yep I have no mechanical skills, lol if you only knew buddy.
I am not a small engine guy. Nor do I want to be. All engines have the same principals, but I came asking for known problems. Fyi, That doesn't mean I lack skills..

Oh, yeah I came back here for an update and got distracted. I rebuilt the carb and didnt find anything. But it now runs great again. No I just need to mow today and see if it will do it again. But with the jd400 being a pretty much better tractor this will get the cab and snowblower reinstalled and go back to live with my father in law for snow blowing duty's. ( Provided I doesn't get hot and cut out)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
