Default Cub 127 Trans Swap

There is a nice Cub 127 a couple of hours from me for sale. Comes with (3) implements for a really good price. It has the hydro trans. My question would be...can I use a "standard" trans/rear end from another model or would that require major fabrication to fit?

Is there a reason you don't want the hydro?

Yes, all 127's come with a "hydro trans." You didn't know that?
It's not worth the effort to try and change it over to "standard". And my next question would be, why would you want to? If you want a gear shift, look for one instead of a hydro...
"If" you just need or want the implements, sell the tractor, and keep them.

Default Just learning...

I asked about the trans swap because I am learning what models have inter changeable parts, what can be replaced with what...that sort of thing.

I am new to owning a cub cadet but do like working on them.

Thanks for all the replies answered my question.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
