1045 Cadet engine died while mowing
Mowing this am and half way through the engine just died as if it had run out of fuel. Tried restarting but absolutely nothing, no clicking no cranking, dead in the water so to speak.
Disconnected the transmission and the wife and i pushed it into the garage. When you turn the key towards the start position the panel indicates 12.3 volts and then 320 hrs total time, keep turning the key to the right and the lower left red light on the panel lights up but nothing happens. Googled like crazy this morning and checked out all the tips including the 20 amp fuse which was OK. It just refuses to crank over or give me any indication it is trying. I bought it used 3 months ago and have put 20 hours on it without a problem. It's obviously an electrical problem some where? It has a brand new air filter and gas filter but it's not even making an attempt to start?

I think I would start at the battery. Do you have a way to test voltage of
the battery? Making sure that all connection there are as clean as can be. Let us know what you find there. We will get you going somehow. Ken

Now I feel really stupid, when the tractor died while mowing (?) I didn't disconnect the PTO. Operators manual says the engine won't start when red light showing PTO engaged comes on.
Disconnected the PTO and voila the engine starts.

Now that is a fix a guy feel good about. Good to hear your running again.
Certainly no need to feel stupid. I doubt there is person here who has not done what you did, of something quite similar.  Ken
