👍 excellent results, from meticulous work. Not sure that tractor could safely haul the load of pride you will have when its done.

I LOVE those rear tires. Dad's 125 has had Firestone ags on it since before I was born (1984) and nothing can match the way the tread looks. I'm glad they are still producing the pattern the same way. Any other AG tires just don't compare IMO. I'll be buying them for my 147 once my current tire needs replaced.

Got the rear lift cleaned up, and painted yellow yesterday. Turned out pretty well. Would have had it mounted today, but my Blazer decided to throw the driver- side front wheel bearing, so had to stay home and get that replaced.
Gonna try for the custom drive line this month, hopefully.

So, the wide frame rear lift is painted! I installed it to the QL1450, and put the new grease fittings in too.
The climate here has been very cold! Friday the high temperature was 18*. Yesterday and today the temperature is around 31* or so. Not too much more going on with the 1450 as cold as it has been I still have to hook up the hydro controls, and brake lever. Then, I will start planning for the double flex disks at both ends of the new custom drive shaft!

X2 ! I mean, you even painted the casting numbers and IH logo in the rear end... Looks very neat so far. 1450s have sort of a special place in my heart. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the nice complement! Just trying to make the 1450 a little better.
Gearing up for some time in the shop working on this garden tractor, and can't wait! Have a few days away from work for the Thanksgiving Holiday. What a great time to also work on this 1450. Had been mocking up the new drive line with dual flex joints at both ends. Should have all the figures on paper, and get those and the parts over to the tool room before Christmas.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
