Default 451 Snowblower on a 2182

Hi All -

I have a 451 snowblower that came with my 2182. The owner had an 1864 as well so I wasn't sure if he mounted it to that or the 2182. The owner died and I bought everything off of his brother. I never had it installed. I have a manual but it isn't very clear on the installation. Or maybe I am overthinking it! I think I understand how to do it but want to be sure. It has the super extensions on it so I assume it was mounted on the 2182. My question. Is there a video or previous thread that shows how to install the 451 or 450 on a super? Or even a thread with some pictures and some additional details on the installation? Or can anyone give me a few pointers? I am really trying to figure out if the undercarriage bracket bolts to the frame or not. There are holes in the frame that look like it does but just want to be sure. Maybe I will get some pictures of my 451 and post them when I get a chance.

Thanks!

JB

Here is an informative link about pivot link bracket position.

The manual (772-4173) does discuss this starting on page 13 of manual. Take your time.

I just purchased a 450 snowblower to attach to my 2082. I need to make the extension brackets. Can you measure the undercarriage extension bracket dimensions and bolt hole centers? Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
